Zain Masri
Zain Masri is a Palestinian American tatreez preservationist and technology executive with over a decade of experience in media, culture and product strategy. Her dedication to preserving heritage has earned her recognition as a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree and an Anthem Award winner.
As the daughter of Arab American immigrants, Zain is passionate about creating opportunities for women in the Arab world. Her mission is to help equip Arab women with skills to overcome obstacles, forge their own paths and inspire others to do the same.
Through Tirazain's interactive and freely available digital archive, Zain partners with volunteers and artists to help preserve tatreez. Patterns are digitized and preserved based on books, journals and photography including references by Sliman Mansour and Nabil Anani who documented hundreds of motifs after visiting Palestinian villages and studying old dresses, photographs and books.
